Booking an Appointment

Patients who are eligible will receive a text to book their appointment through Accurx Self-book. This will allow you to see all the appointments available for our Flu clinics. You will also be able to use this link to decline the vaccination. For those patients who do not have access to a smartphone you can still contact reception at the surgery on 01332 280800 or 01332 872217 they will be able to book an appointment for you.

Covid-19 Booster

The practice are no longer offering Covid19 vaccinations. If you are eligible and have not received your Covid-19 Booster for Winter 2023 please contact 119 to arrange an appointment.

Eligible groups for COVID-19

• residents in a care home for older adults
• all adults aged 65 years and over
• persons aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, as defined in tables 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book (PLEASE NOTE: the practice will only be providing vaccines for adults aged 18+)
• frontline health and social care workers
• persons aged 12 to 64 years who are household contacts, as defined in the Green Book, of people with immunosuppression (PLEASE NOTE: the practice will only be providing vaccines for adults aged 18+)
• persons aged 16 to 64 years who are carers, as defined in the Green Book, and staff working in care homes for older adults (PLEASE NOTE: the practice will only be providing vaccines for adults aged 18+)

Eligible patients aged under 18 will need to contact the national booking line to arrange an appointment.

Patients will be offered the Comirnaty Original/Omicron BA.4-5 which is the most up-to-date COVID-19 vaccine.  

Eligible groups for a the free NHS flu vaccine from 1st September 2023 are:

• are 65 and over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2024)
• those aged 6 months to under 65 years in a clinical at risk group including:
  • Chronic respiratory disease
  • Chronic Heart and vascular disease
  • Chronic kidney disease – stage 3,4 or 5
  • Chronic Liver disease
  • Chronic neurological disease
  • Diabetes
  • Immunosuppression
  • Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen
  • BMI +40
• are pregnant
• are in long-stay residential care
• those who are in receipt of a carers allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.
• live with someone who is more likely to get a severe infection due to a weakened immune system, such as someone living with HIV, someone who has had a transplant, or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis
• health and social care staff directly involved in the care of their patients or clients
• Children aged 2-3 years old, specifically at 31st August 2023

Primary school children who are not in the clinically at risk group above will be offered a vaccination in school.

Over 50’s who are not clinically at risk are no longer eligible for the a free NHS Influenza vaccination. Private (paid for) vaccinations will be widely available at pharmacies.
